What we check, and when
Licence
We look it up in the official register that grants it. We repeat the check every year.
EMDR training
We read the certificate and confirm the trainer is on the association's list. We repeat the check when the certificate changes.
What the date means
Each check carries the day we made it. It says the licence and the training were valid that day. It says nothing about clinical work, or about anything after that date.

What we check and what we don't
We check
- The licence. In the official register, under the therapist's name.
- The EMDR training. Against the certificate and the training body's published list of trainers.
We don't check
- The title beside the name. Each therapist declares it. We do not check it separately.
- Identity documents. We do not ask for them or store them.
- Locations. Each therapist declares them. Verification does not determine where they can treat each patient.
- Clinical work. We do not supervise or endorse it.
Which EMDR trainings count
A completed EMDR basic training, given by a trainer that the country's EMDR body recognises. In Argentina, a trainer on EMDR Iberoamérica Argentina's list.
Introductory courses, and certificates from course platforms that no EMDR body recognises.
