EMDR by reason
EMDR and grief

Written by María Eugenia Buceta, psychologist, licence 88498, EMDR basic training complete.
After a loss, pain is expected, and it doesn't need treating as a problem. Some people seek help when something gets stuck: images of the death or of the end that keep coming back, guilt over what went unsaid, or feeling unable to carry on with life months later.
EMDR doesn't aim to make you forget or stop missing someone. The work covers the hardest memories of the loss, such as the news, the last days, or the goodbye that never happened.
You set the pace. Some sessions are conversation only, with no bilateral stimulation.
